If there were a degree for being a bagaholic, I would have my master’s by now.

I have a collection of over 100 bags of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Some may call me obsessed, but I’d prefer the word ‘collector.’ 🙂

You may be wondering what sparked my fascination with handbags?

Well, it all began with Balenciagas. I fell in love with motorcycle bags that Olsen twins and other celebs were carrying back in the 2000s. I was a student at the time, and I couldn’t afford a Bal, so I went for cheaper options (like Rebecca Minkoff), and the sparks flew. I couldn’t stop. I loved Rebecca Minkoff bags so much that they now make up a significant part of my handbag collection.

A few years later, it happened. I finally purchased my first Balenciaga bag. It was a classic lambskin black Velo, and it was stunning! Well, it still is. Even after being heavily used for years, it’s my favorite go-to bag. Talk about quality.

Not too long ago, I discovered Henri Bendel bags, but, sadly, it happened after the store was closed for good. So there’s only one way to purchase Henri Bendel bags now – pre-owned. If you missed your chance to buy a Henri Bendel in-store, too, no worries! I can help you find the perfect one on the many second-hand online platforms we have available.

My goal is to make this blog, Buy It Before I Do, a place where fellow handbag enthusiasts can find info on handbags and other fashion items and everyday essentials.

After moving three times in the last two years, I’ve realized packing and unpacking over 100 handbags is a bigger headache than I thought it would be. So I’m currently taking a hiatus from extensive shopping, and now, I’m going to dedicate my time to helping others find their perfect bag!

Here, I’m going to review my favorite places to shop online, as well as the bags and other items I own. I’ll be sharing the best places on the internet to buy handbags while staying on a budget – you’ll find links to items on marketplaces like eBay, Poshmark, and others. I know a good deal when I see one, and I know what to look out for when it comes to buying pre-loved designer bags. Any bag I’d suggest would be one that I would purchase myself.

I mainly shop in the U.S. as the U.S. has the best selection of bags from the brands that I love. Moreover, some of my favorite designers aren’t even sold where I live, so sometimes, my only choice is to buy overseas. International shipping prices can be outrageously high, though. So, living outside of the U.S, I’ve had to get a little more creative to save on those multiple bags I’ve purchased.

I’ve learned plenty of tips and tricks along the way, and I’m going to share my experiences with you here on Buy It Before I Do. I’m hoping to help you learn how to purchase items from the U.S. for less and save on those pesky international fees.
